First off, Happy Birthday to
ancella!

I know it deserves a proper post, but the moment passed me by and I no longer feel like making a complex review of sorts of the Trinoma Blogger Food Tour. Apparently, this is linked in other places, so I guess I'll make a more decent post about the Trinoma Blogger Food Tour.
It was great, absolutely terrific. Woe to those participating restos that didn't know or refused to give us premium service. Cabalen just sucked. Our tour marshal had to come up to them to coax what the hell we're supposed to do and eat out of one of their staff. The meager dishes we were served (3: sisig, lechon, and kare-kare) didn't even look quite good. I only ate a spoonful of sisig. Considering this was our first stop (and we were the first there; should've warned the other groups), I thought the rest of the trip would be a waste of time if they were anything like Cabalen. Oh, our first stop was actually Crustasia, but apparently NOBODY among their staff was even aware of the food tour. Fail.
Third stop was La Maison (which was the first stop for half our group). Everything wins. The menu looked funky, the seats were comfy, the manager and staff were all very accomodating (and the mgr even gave us bonus promo cards that I think the other group members didn't get). Best of all, the food was terrific. The ribs and the fish fillet was made of absolute win.
La Maison won my heart that day. I'm taking Xanne there next month. When I get some cash, of course. The Dover Sole Fish Fillet is absolutely scrumptious. Oh! They have good prices too. If you're spending anyway, use it for La Maison instead of the crap that is Cabalen.
The stops for the next floor were Abe, Hossein's, and Haiku. We were really pressed for time, so we didn't make all of the stops. Or I guess it had to do with Madison Grill's lack of food to offer us for actual food touring purposes. We went straight to Haiku after learning of their... plans.
Abe had an okay mix. The pork binagoongan was nice, but the staff seemed reserved, even apathetic. Sad. Menu Item of the Day was the "Homos with Meat" from Hossein's. The staff was okay, and we were treated to samples of their kebab and the...uh... homos. XD Haiku was pretty much accomodating. The salad-y dish with tuna was... I dunno. I'm not really into raw fish. since I didn't barf it right out, I guess the tuna was okay for me.
The top floor was our last stop, meaning we only got to three out of five floors. We were full, anyway, so I don't think any of us went for the last two floors of the tour after the concert. Anyway, at this floor, we made rounds at TGIF, Fish & Co., Italianni's, Bubba Gump, Holy Cow, and CYMA. They were all great, welcoming us cheerfully (esp. at Bubba Gump, with their plethora of people actually going out of their way to greet us and shiz). The cakes at Holy Cow were a welcome dessert. But CYMA came right after, and when they served up that hueg (yep. HUEG. LIEK WHOAZ) serving of samples, I just had to pass. I just forked a mouthful of meat and let Kuya Lowe finish the rest of the plate.
Sound played right after, supposedly to cap the tour. It was a fun event, and we got to meet a few new people. Thanks to Yehey! and Trinoma (thanks for the baller ID, too!) for staging such a wonderful event. Here's to another blogger food tour!

It's ten and I'm still full from the chicken fingers, onion rings, and dory we ate at Burgoo. That was still 4 pm-ish!
Anyway. This is apparently my first post in 2008. Been a little... preoccupied lately. I don't really know the first thing I want to post here... Life's been good, for the most part. That, except I'm in a bind financially (GIMME RANDOM FREELANCE WRITING JOBS, PEOPLE!).
I need to finish at least one new story for my thesis before this month ends. I need to finish at least 5 exams for psych before this month ends so I can concentrate on my thesis later.
There's really only so little time to go around, I won't spend it on meaningless things and even-more-meaningless people.
